Ronnie Davis Wins ADRL, Sets Track Record at zMAX

Mooresville, NC (August 6, 2012)  Roush Yates Engines’ drivers Ronnie Davis and Brian Deegan found victory lane in two different styles of racing this weekend, winning in the American Drag Racing League and Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Davis captured his first ADRL win at zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC while Deegan brought home his second win of the season in Round 10 at Glen Helen Raceway.

The American Drag Racing League’s debut race at zMAX Dragway will always be memorable for top sportsman racer Ronnie Davis. Davis won for the first time in his class with an impressive 4.085 at 162.98 MPH on Saturday, setting both the elapsed time and MPH record for the drag way.

“I normally don’t dial it in this quick, but it was a lot of fun going that fast,” said Davis. “It was a good race car and a very meaningful win for me. I’ve struggled in the ADRL and I needed one of these wins. I’m not going to stop now.”

Davis has been running a Roush Yates built 822 BBC for the past two years.

Rounds 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, held under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway, ended with two Roush Yates engines racers on the podium Sunday night. Brian Deegan and Jeremy McGrath finished first and second in the Pro 2 Unlimited race at the track in Corona, CA known for its intimidating natural terrain and tight and fast corners.

“It’s great to be on top again in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series,” said Deegan. “The engine ran awesome tonight and I need to thank my entire team for helping me get to the front.”
